Foresight has a successful track record in acquiring, developing and exiting unquoted companies. In our VCTs and EIS funds, we typically invest up to £6 million of equity in an individual transaction. Whereas our LPs seek to invest up to £50 million in an individual transaction, but will adapt our criteria where there is demonstrable potential for value growth.
Foresight has invested in over 60 companies over more than 20 years. We have invested successfully in very young businesses and in mature businesses. We have supported organic and acquisitive growth, leveraged MBOs, spin-outs and buy and build strategies.
We have exited more than 30 investments and realised on average six times the cost of investment. In 2007 we realised over £24 million from investments with a total purchase cost of £7 million. Our first institutional fund returned to investors more than £4 for every £1 invested.
