Management buyouts
We seek out well-established businesses with a technology-led growth strategy. The returns achievable are evident in the stories of Advanced Composites and Covion, which together transformed investment costs of £4.1 million into cash returns of £21 million. The buyout of Datapath, a supplier of videowall controllers, is just one of four recent transactions supported by Foresight.
Development capital
Foresight works closely with young companies in many different sectors that have the potential to grow by a factor of ten or more. Companies that have benefited from this approach include smartcard manufacturer Gemplus, marketing analytics supplier smartFOCUS and nano-materials pioneer, Oxonica.
Environmental
Foresight has been investing in environmental sectors and clean technologies since 2001. We have developed a special focus on the infrastructure needed to create a low carbon economy and address the challenge of global warming. Recent investments include Closed Loop London, now building the UK’s first plant to recycle PET plastics into material for food packaging, O-Gen, which generates green power from biomass and 2K Manufacturing, which is a specialist manufacturer of an innovative board made from recycled waste plastics.
