Leading green venture capital firm Foresight Group, has scooped a major industry prize for its Foresight 3 VCT fund at this year’s ‘Oscars’ for the venture capital industry. Foresight Group was awarded VCT of the Year at the prestigious Investor AllStars Venture Capital Awards, which took place last night (Thursday 23 September, 2010) at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
Now in its eighth year, Investor AllStars is one of the most important events in the Venture Capital community’s calendar, with the awards recognising the leading investors and risk takers in the industry.
"We’re delighted to win this award, which is real recognition of the knowledge and expertise of our talented investment team as well as the innovative nature of our investment products,” commented Bernard Fairman, Chairman of Foresight Group.
"There has been great increased interest in cleantech investment opportunities in the last few years, and this award is further evidence that we are continuing to build a strong reputation in the area.”
Tax-efficient investment products that deliver a strong performance are a key element of Foresight Group’s business focus. The company attracted over £40m in investment into its products during the 2009/10 tax year, with £30m subscriptions of this being into its VCTs, very substantially increasing its market share. Foresight has raised £150m new capital for all its funds since 2004.
