We are pleased to announce the investment by the Jenson Seed EIS Fund into Kippsy.
Kippsy is a marketplace that strives to match those with available properties with visitors that wish to pay to stay in beautiful, homely accommodation in London instead of hotels. By attracting a growing number of property owners who wish to let their non-utilised space for cash, the aim is to develop a thriving community with an emphasis on safe and secure self-contained short-term lettings. Kippsy’s London centric launch strategy is to forge strong partnerships with landlords and therefore will refine its offering in response to their needs, requests and issues.
Kippsy have identified a market gap with just 6,600 serviced apartment stock in London which is just 6% of hotel supply. With strong marketing, they plan to fill a market gap and they have already got more than 300 properties on their books signed up already. Kippsy's aim is to be the market leading platform encompassing economy to high end properties whilst delivering a return on investment for investors.
The founder, Phil Cooper has strong previous experience in digital businesses. His first digital venture started in 1999. The 3rd age site, 50connect.co.uk was sold to a mature marketing company for a six figure sum in 2004 with over a million users and 100,000 registered members.
In 2005 he launched Utarget as Europe’s first online video advertising network. Utarget grew to 65 staff across 5 countries and was sold to Fox International Channels (Newscorp).

Foresight has in excess of £800 million assets under management across a number of funds, including Limited Partnerships, Enterprise Investment Schemes (EISs) and Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs).
Since 2001 the partners of Jenson Solutions have provided numerous companies with financial and operational support to help them grow and develop, with the aim of taking them from where they are today to where they want to be. Jenson provide high quality services such as portfolio and interim finance professionals, mergers and acquisitions advice, corporate finance advice, share option set up, share option valuations, IFRS conversions and accounting and financial modelling services to companies both large and small. A key focus of Jenson Solutions has been to support small businesses from start up through their life cycle. When the government announced their plans for the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (‘Seed EIS’), we saw an opportunity to work with Foresight to create a fund enabling us to support many of the businesses that we work with and would like to work with in the future.
