Peekabu Studios Ltd – Investment for Jenson Seed EIS Fund
We are pleased to announce the investment by the Jenson Seed EIS Fund into Peekabu Studios Ltd (‘Peekabu’). Peekabu's technology tracks objects with any webcam, and turns it into interaction.
It is a complete computer vision technology stack that recognizes, reacts and remembers real-world objects, drawings and, products. The system can quickly recognise an object it’s looking for, follow it around as you move it in your hand, trigger events and look up information about it, and remember that object across multiple devices. It does this using consumer webcams already embedded in laptops, mobile devices, and smart TVs, ensuring that consumers don’t need to make a major purchase to have an extraordinary experience.
The Founder and CEO of Peekabu is Alexander Cole. He holds an MSc in Design & Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh and has over 8 years of experience working in digital media, design, and project management. The rest of the team are Jan Wessnitzer, AI Engineer and Jacek Dudek. Al is an expert in statistical programming, recognition engines and data structuring; Jan has brought a tremendous amount of expertise to the core recognition engines Peekbu work with; and Jacek is the Software Developer, he has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Heriot- Watt University, and is a tireless developer with a passion for problem solving and thoughtful UI/UX design.
Peekabu have built an API that can turn an ordinary laptop into a novel recognition and motion control experience, can turn toys into controllers, and pictures into passwords. Their strength is based in an audience hungry for new technologies that make sense for their lives. Peekabu build for real applications, real environments and real people. That’s what makes this a technology, and a company, that will sit at the heart of these new experiences.
